Cats are an important part of any culture.
Cats are an important part of any culture.
The most famous cats are of course domesticated cats, but even more popular perhaps are the giant cats of Africa—the lions.
These little guys are particularly awesome and fantastic creatures. You may even find them in the strut and gait of your own domesticated little kitty. (You didn’t know it, but cats are particularly important to the business world. There’s a reason some famous entrepreneurs look like cats—I’m just saying. Not like owner, like pet. Instead, like pet, like owner.)
So, what kind of food do you feed your cats? Leftover Thanksgiving or leftover Christmas food? While it’s ok to feed some human food to cats, we must be careful not to turn them too much into miniature versions of ourselves.
After all, cats are cats and people are just people.
I will talk, of course, about my main passion, which is to deliver quality woolen materials for cats. (With global warming and these crazy winter snaps, our little furry friends will need all the help they can possibly get.)
But today, in a somewhat similar but actually quite different direction, I want to address my other main concern: food for cats.
Now, just because I’ve said we shouldn’t be feeding human food to cats, it doesn’t mean we should go ahead and do really horrible, dry, tasteless (I assume) pellet-food for cats. There is a way to get gourmet, but which doesn’t come out of a can.
I propose, instead of being a foodie for human food, let’s create some sort of foodies for cats.
That’s right. Food-freaks, food-lovers, food-searches and food-trend-exploders, focusing all their attention to cats. Foodies for cats include recipes for cats. Not that includes cats, of course, ew, but recipes for cats that are centered on creating fantastic food that our cat friends will enjoy.
These recipes for cats can include any type you prefer—vegan, vegetarian, pescaterian, ovo, omnivore, fruitarian, even carnivore. But these recipes for cats should be delicious, as judged by the enjoyment that our little furry friends will show us, not by their meows, but by how much they will eat and devour.
Although they are domesticated, after all, it doesn’t mean that all ties have been severed to their lion distant-cousins over there in the plains of Africa. They have that power, if only we give them food that brings out the lions and cheetahs inside of them.
Let us build great recipes for cats!
